Review of Attack of the Beast Creatures (1985) by Richard D — 12 Mar 2018
A bunch of people are marooned on a tiny island in the North Atlantic that's populated by tiny rubber monsters. Dear God this is a terrible movie. So many many mistakes ... the film is set in the 1920's, which is an odd choice because it means this dime store movie had to spend money on costumes that the plot didn't require.
The little rubber monsters are clearly supposed to remind you of that Zuni fetish doll from "Trilogy of Terror", but you need to be able to shoot and edit effectively to make a small, inarticulate threat work.
This just has a ton of scenes of people clearly having little rubber dolls thrown at them or holding them onto their own limbs and pretending to be attacked. I'll give it one thing ... the ultra cheap gore effects are probably the least bad thing about it.
