Review of Atonement (2007) by Jeffrey T — 09 Feb 2011
A classic! A piece of Art! I love what it's about. That's the only reason I consider it an incredible film, but not wholly... I still can't get over why they want to gross us out with what could have been a beautiful movie.
I think the style of the movie is appropriate for a writers perspective, but I happen to find most of the imagery creepy, disturbing and unclassy for such a sophisticated story. I also couldn't sympathise with any of the characters base on the film itself, however from the writers persepctive I can.
This is a one-time experience: you'd watch, admit it's great, and may never be interested in seeing it again. It's like a bad experience you learn a great deal of lesson from, but never intend to have the same experience again.
