T's rare that a movie can faithfully translate the prose and subtleties that define a beloved novel, but "Atonement" successfully and gracefully does so. The film captures the complexities and subtleties of the novel while simultaneously adding a new dimension to the story through cinematic narrative.
The costumes, sets, and musical score are all impeccable. Wonderful movie.
