Review of Atonement (2007) by Connor F — 17 Jul 2013
Generally romance movies and I don't agree with each other, but Atonement offers beautiful cinematography and tender writing to make even the most masculine viewers find something to appreciate and admire.
The long distance lovers plotline has been thoroughly overused in theater, but this manages to find originality, not to mention great chemistry from its leads that never once comes off as cheesy or forced.
Every shot and every bit of dialogue seems to have so much thought in it, and the director seems to have been very invested in the film. Atonement is another hidden gem in one of the best years of cinema of the 21st century.
