Review of Atomic Blonde (2017) by Simeon M — 28 Aug 2017
Atomic Blonde is a noble effort to have a female lead in a Bond-esque spy thriller, but it does slightly miss the mark. The action sequences definitely live up to the hype in previews. However, the plot can be a little confusing to follow at times due to the pacing and cutaway nature of the film, and some characters remain underdeveloped in the wrong areas.
Theron and McAvoy excel in their performances as Lorraine and Percival, respectively. All in all, this was an pretty cool film that didn't give two whats about what they said or did. Should rent, maybe buy.
