Review of Atomic Blonde (2017) by Chris F — 30 Jul 2017
I dug this movie a lot. Charlize Theron is in it to win it as a cold, highly skilled spy who is sent on a mission in late 80's Berlin right before the wall gets torn down. The movie has a great 80's soundtrack and a fun style, if not quite as slick as the John Wick movies.
It felt a little too serious at times and ran maybe about 20 minutes too long. I wish they had made Theron's character more fleshed out but I didn't exactly go to this expecting masterful dialogue and character work.
I wanted a kick ass action movie with a cool female lead and that's exactly what I got.
