THE GOOD.

- A breath of fresh air to see this departure from the stagnant romance and singing and comedy and based-on-a-fairytale. This gets replaced by adventure, exploration, and more explosions than Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty combined. Now dats cool.

- The animation is gorgeous. My favorite color is blue and this movie is definitely very blue-tiful. :).

- Even with such a large cast, the movie does spend just enough time to develop each character, compared to say, only 3 of the 7 dwarfs in Snow White.

- I love all the neither-good-nor-bad tweener characters, particularly Helga, who's a welcome change after suffering through all those weak princess types. I'm also glad that there are no signs of kids for a change!

- Great climax, followed by an ENDING!! After 60 years, Disney finally figured out what an ending means!!

THE BAD.

- Constant lame wisecracks from the secondary characters distract from the story.

- Many parts of the first 40 minutes before reaching Atlantis often seem cheezy and unnecessary.

THE INTERESTING.

The film is sadly unrated by Disney fans. I think it's because it's very different. However, I think change should be rewarded, and like Fantasia, I hope this film will be given the respect it deserves 50 years later.
