Review of Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001) by Fanofdisney1994 — 27 Aug 2018
Atlantis is a great action adventure film think 20,000 Leagues meets Journey to the Center of the Earth and the goal is to find the lost city of Atlantis. With that combination you an incredible film with the look of a 1940’s pulp comic book. It gives the film a very unique look with some characters like Milo having a more pointed structure while others have a more circular look to them. While I am on the characters one of the best scenes is when they become more open to Milo and you learn why each of them is on this journey and what they plan to do if they do find Atlantis. The comedy while not in there a lot is still good and some of the best comes from the characters of Vinny (Don Novello), Helga (Claudia Christian), and Mole (Corey Burton).
The city of Atlantis itself is a thing of beauty and it is only intensified with the amazing score of James Newton Howard.
