Review of Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001) by Kylea M — 14 Aug 2018

All and all I think that it's an amazing kids movie and here are my reasons why.

1.Its about a real life mystery.

2. The characters personalities are flawed and relatable.

3. Great example of morals (lives and knowledge are more important than money).

4. Strong female characters with non stereotypical jobs and people from different ethnicities.

5. The fact that people actually lose their lives but in a non gruesome way which makes it more realistic but in a child appropriate way.

6. It is beautifully animated for the time with lots of small details.

7. It's humorous in so many ways.

8. It differs extremely from the typical Disney animated movies that we see today.

9. The music in this movie is just amazing and it really makes the movie.

10. It has many nice messages that I think a lot of kids needs to learn early!

All and all I think that the way a lot of kids movies depict the world and it's characters today even though it has developed a lot still sticks with a lot of stereotypes and non flawed characters. They just don't depict a realistic view of the world we live in today and it's people .

And I'm not saying that atlantis is in any way realistic when it comes to the story and plot but in its flaws and characters it's rugged and it's pleasing to me because almost nothing is perfect but it can be beautiful all the same.
