Review of Atanarjuat: The Fast Runner (2002) by Geoff L — 23 Mar 2008
This film is a doorway into a different world. Featuring the Inuit people of Canada's frozen Arctic, this is the first movie ever written and spoken entirely in the Inuit's native Inuktuit language. Despite its foreign origin, the movie deals with universal themes such as love, jealousy, revenge and violence.
A challenging work of art, but worth it if you surrender to the movie's brutal, brittle grandeur. And you'll never forget the Naked Running Guy!
