Review of Astro Boy (2009) by Cherif N — 08 Aug 2010
Sweet movie about a robot kid trying to find his place in the world, as he is abandoned by his father. As he ventures to new places, he quickly gains new friends and finally come to terms with himself. Alas, his new found adventure quickly turns grim as he's forced to accept that he is but a robot in a world of humans.
It's a nice animated movie that is enjoyable at best. But that's about it. For me it was a bit too short and I felt oddly unattached throughout the movie. It didn't have the same emotional impact as Wall-E had for example, and everything just felt a bit too rushed for my taste.
Never the less, it's an enjoyable movie with lots of talented voice-overs.
