This is a wonderful movie about a doctor who finds that life after death is not at all what he thought it would be. While other beautiful movies like "What dreams may come" used allegory and mystery to portray this reality, Nosso Lar (Astral City) delivers a straight message, explaining exactly what happens, with vivid images to illustrate it. Every human being should watch this at least once, even if they don't believe in any of it.

At the time of its making, this was Brazil's most expensive movie ever made, especially due to extensive CGI effects. It was a huge Box Office hit in Brazil. The soundtrack by Philip Glass is very moving.
