Review of Assault on Precinct 13 (2005) by Jim M — 02 May 2009
Detroit, New Year's Eve: A snow storm sends a prison transport carrying 4 criminals including the ruthless Marion Bishop (Laurence Fishburne) to Precinct 13 schedualed to close forever in a few hours and staffed by a burnt out ex undercover officer (Ethan Hawke), a retiring old timer (Brian Dennihey), a pyschatrist (Maria Bello) and a secretary (Drea De Matteo). With communications cut off cops and criminals are forced to work together when Bishops ex-partners, a gang of bent cops led by Gabriel Byrne, arrive to silence Bishop and kill anyone who might be able to finger them.
Well done, action packed siege movie with some top notch acting by Fishburne, Hawk and Byrne, livined up by the presence of John Leguizamo. Defeinitly worth checking out.
