Review of Assassin's Creed (2016) by Imthenoob — 13 Mar 2017
Needless back story for the main character to start the film. They could have skipped the whole part of the movie and save a lot of time and money. In fact it would have been a lot better just to jump right into things rather than get a junk back story that could have been explained in a few sentences rather than multiple scenes.
The plot itself was pretty basic and similar to the first AC game. Using the Animus and going back in time was boring though. The Animus parts were all action and no story while the real world parts were all acting and no action. There should have been a blend of the two. The Animus parts were really boring imo. I didn't care for the action scenes at all, Did not care for the directing all through out the film either.
I think that's what disappoints me. The director only had 4 films under his belt, All of which were low budget films. He doesn't have any experience with action films or big budget films so I think they went wrong there. They should have gotten someone who was familiar with making films like this to helm it.
Honestly, There isn't a single good thing about the film. Total miss-use of the incredibly talented cast, A lot of waste of a license as this could have been a break out series. Instead, It's just another excuse as to why we shouldn't make a video game based film.
