Review of Assassination of a High School President (2008) by Kaiser S — 10 Oct 2009
The most impressive and funny element of "Assassination of a High School President" is Bruce Willis. You take that element out, and you have a very bland "investigative" movie dealing with high schoolers at a prestigious private school.
In fact the only humor in the movie worth laughing at is Bruce Willis, who has the single funniest line I've heard in a movie this year. Without spoiling it, I'll just say it's one of the first things he says in this movie.
But the scene's with him are few and far between, and his involvement isn't enough to warrant watching this more then one time. A solid attempt at bringing a sort of detective movie mixed with some Diablo Cody "Juno-like" dialogue, but at the end it just falls flat.
On a side note, I'd also like to state I attended private school for eight years of my life, and I never experienced the freedom these kids do at this school, totally unbelievable. Bruce Willis is what gets this a three star rating instead of two.
