Review of Assassination of a High School President (2008) by Karissa C — 01 Jul 2010
The intelligent and well-written dialogue makes this film stand out. It feels a little like a John Hughes film, but with an edge. It's Rushmore meets Fast Times at Ridgemont High, and mostly filled with fresh-faced unknowns.
Bruce Willis' performance as war-veteran-turned-principal of the school is one notch down from wingnut, and highly entertaining. A little too much voice over for my liking, but with a gumshoe story like this, a little voice over can't hurt.
