Review of Assassination Nation (2018) by Devin P — 22 Sep 2018
I thought this film was going to suck. I was wrong. Certainly one if the best female-centric/feminist commentaries in the last 5 years. "Assassination" delivers a high impact punch of female strength, empowerment, and new-wave enlightenment that most films severaly lack.
The last 20 min are a bit rushed and loosely tied up, a bit fantastic and gory, but the true message persists. Excellent portrayal of today's consistent, and pervasive, weak male ego, along with an incredible array of shots and cinematography, all wrapped up in very current and timely writing and dialogue.
Thrilling, cerebral, felicitous, feminist. This film has it all.
