Review of Asphalt (1929) by Ben D — 22 Jan 2008
This is one of the finest examples of German filmmaking of the 1920s. Every scene is drenched in noirish perfection. From the scenes of the asphalt laying that opens the movie onward show a director at the top of his game.
I cannot recommend this enough... a fine movie from cinemas finest decade...
