Review of Aśoka (2001) by Bennie B — 05 Jan 2009
On plot alone I rate the movie this. Very different from your typical epic drama because of the Indian style. First movie I've seen like that with the dancing and songs; it's like mini music videos stuck in the movie haha.
But plot wise it was the most gut wrenching, drawn out, heart pounding, twisting, epic story I have ever seen in a movie. So much tragedy and love, and hope all in one. Show me an American movie like that and it might make my favorite haha.
Don't forget to watch with you suspension of disbelief!
