Review of Aśoka (2001) by Shannon C — 30 May 2014
Asoka is a drama film about the life of emperor Asoka directed by Santosh Sivan. It is about 3 hours long and stars Shahrukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor. The film takes place during the Maurya Empire in India and starts off with Asoka being a general in Taxila and ends with Asoka converting to Buddhism.
I would recommend this film because it is very informative about emperor Asoka's life. However, it is in Hindi so people who don't know Hindi would have to look at the subtitles which gets irritating after 2 hours, and the movie isn't really clear.
