Review of Ashes and Diamonds (1958) by V.s. L — 25 Oct 2008
Wajda tries his best to ruin his fine movie with dismal symbolism and imposed political icing. But I love how the constrained set works, how everything goes around and around, the use of sound, the tension.
Zbigniew Cybulski actually is worth all the praise.
