Review of Ashes and Diamonds (1958) by Aaron W — 25 Mar 2009
Pensive, badass and so damn beautiful. There were a couple flaws; a few parts seemed to drag a bit, but Jesus, this thing had some gorgeous scenes and I find it hard to fault the film for such small transgressions. Zbigniew Cybulski has an almost James Dean feel as the protagonist, and Ewa Krzyzewski makes a lovely and believable love interest.
Looking forward to more Wajda.
