Review of Artemis Fowl (2020) by Betterlucknext — 02 Oct 2021

I couldn't believe how awful this movie was. My expectations were low at first, and somehow Disney managed to go under that bar. It was boring, generic, unfocused, and stupid. You don't get to care for any of the characters and the plot drives the story instead of the characters.

There's too much lazy exposition and the directing isn't even that great. This movie could've been amazing. The books are fantastic, and I really wish Disney stuck to them. Disney made the claim that audiences wouldn't be able to handle a child villain protagonist, which is stupid because the success of the books say otherwise.
