Given Grant's own family history of mental illness and its coincidence with the filming of the stage play, it all seem rather grotesque now.
Oh, and the "lawn jockey" is a nice awkward touch too. Ah, simpler times when casual racism and a total misunderstanding of mental illness resulted in mass murder!
