Review of Arsenic and Old Lace (1944) by Trisha W — 20 May 2008
I was very surprised by this film. I was not expecting anything like this. But the film was really fun and enjoyable. Apparently it's a classic too as it was in one of my sister's madlib books for classic monster movies.
But anyways, the acting was quite funny, especially with facial expressions. The mannerisms were also up to par and the artistic style was good, especially for the 40s. I was kind of dreading the black and white, but I think it made the film since you could see the shadows better.
It would have taken away from the simple story to have colored it in. The plot was very much amusing, not horror or anything, and was definitely worth the watch.
