Review of Arsenic and Old Lace (1944) by Andy K — 12 Sep 2008
The inimitable Cary Grant is bombarded by an unstable brother who believes himself to be Teddy Roosevelt, a psychotic vengeful brother who resembles Boris Karloff, the latter's accomplice/plastic surgeon and his two sweet aunts (who like to poison lonely old men to put them out of their misery), all of this taking place on his wedding night.
Outrageous comedy wonderfully pulled off by Capra, the Epstein brothers (Casablanca screenwriters) and a game cast. Great fun.
