I'm shocked that this reviews so highly. The movie frames itself as a science based sci-fi movie, but constantly employss poor science and the most superficial explanations for character choices. The Tomato Meter calls this a must see thinking persons sci-fi and I found it to be the exact opposite.
I would consider this Sci-Fi for the Transformers crowd.
