Review of Arrival (2016) by Sarah D — 02 Jan 2019
Wonderful story that manages to walk the line between complexity and simplicity. In an effort to build atmosphere, the plot feels slow at times--something that works well for a psychological thriller as a book, but felt a bit frustrating here.
Includes a refreshingly new take on the psychology of an alien other. A bit of abuse of Sapir Whorf. Vague in all the right places.
