In contrast to sci-fi's stereotypical destruction, Arrival provides hope that the unknown may ultimately lead to good, even if wrought with inescapable humanness. Wrenchingly-moving and dogma-shattering, an absolute must see (with a quiet room, bottle of wine, and terminal kleenex).
