Review of Army of Darkness (1992) by Ross B — 21 Nov 2010
While the first two evil dead movies took themselves at least a bit seriously, Army of Darkness goes straight into campville. But that works very well with the whole vibe of the movie. Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi once again come together to make Ash one bad mother who continues to fight off the evil spirits from the Necronomacon.
This time he fights the baddies in the 1300s, where he was transported at the end of Evil Dead II. Now while the stories don't exactly match up, who cares. The dialogue has a lot of bad puns and jokes but once again it goes with the territory.
It is still a really fun movie to watch and a good time.
