Second best in the series under the original, Army of Darkness goes down easy as a light fun cartoonish romp. There isn't a lot of depth to Army of Darkness and the plot is perfunctory, but that's part of the humor in this installment.
It doesn't aspire to be anything other then simple fun, and at this it succeeds.
