Review of Armageddon (1998) by Suzi G — 29 Mar 2014
ARMAGEDDON is noisy, relentless, and restless- it's very American (no offense intended). This is a movie that looks like it was made by someone which an attention span so short and so careless that the whole exercise of making it seems pointless.
You couldn't care less about the characters and who they are- they are just 2D props inserted in the film to give it apparent "human" qualities so it can be more marketable (sympathzing with the audience).
No one with this small an imagination and ambitions should ever make a movie like this- this is irresponsible filmmaking because it's too normal a movie for anyone to care about. There are a few little things I like- some of the visual effects look nice and Steve Buscemi is good for a few laughs.
ARMAGEDDON is a dumb movie, a terrible movie- but there are worse films than this.
