Review of Arlington Road (1999) by Douglas D — 02 Mar 2008
Very effective. If you've ever started this one and didn't finish it, I strongly suggest you reconsider. The opening starts the movie off with a bang (and some blood), the mid section develops the characters, relationships, and sets the tone, and the final act will flat out make you angry.
Also of note, it is interesting to watch Arlington Road--which was written before 9/11--in a post 9/11 American society...if you have an iron-clad stomach, I could see some serious dinner conversations sprouting up from here.
