Review of Argo (2012) by Iven S — 21 Oct 2013
A well made suspense drama movie about the iran hostage crisis in the 70's. Its a credit to the director to be able to move this movie along at a good pace and keep the suspense going when the immediate threat isn't so blatant.
The score does a good job and the cast is spot on, there isn't really much I can fault to be quite honest. The movie does what it sets out to do and gives us a great sign of the times drama. I couldn't give it 5 stars, I just couldn't,.
. I know you might hate me for this but the subject matter is just a little too bleh! maybe I have watched way too many people get shot in movies lately but the suspense is only relative to the threat & unfortunately the threat for me felt a little exaggerated.
Sure they may have been killed if they got caught but also, they may have not. The variables were quite broad & the suspense building on whether someone answers the phone or not, doesn't quite cut it for me.
