Review of Argo (2012) by Logan M — 03 Feb 2018
Based on a true incident in Iran in the late 70's / early 80's. The CIA decides to rescue 6 American Embassy employees who are hiding out in the house of the Canadian Ambassador to Iran after the embassy is over-run by Iranian "student" protesters.
The angle they use is unique - play them off to the Iranian government as a Canadian film crew to allow them to get on a plane to freedom. The story is well written and suspenseful; the pacing is a bit slow, however the stellar performances of the ensemble cast overshadow that.
This is good stuff.
