Review of Argo (2012) by Thomas P — 06 Oct 2013
Argo is another academy award winning movie I just had to go see to find out what all the fuss was about, and I loved every minute of this film. As a historical film based on the Iran U.S. hostage crisis in 1980, it did an amazing job of recreating moments from that event practically picture perfect.
Ben Affleck as the star CIA agent Tony Mendez plays his role to the best of his ability and you can see it in the movie. The story is very engaging, and mostly very thrilling as the hostages attempt escape from Iran, suspense and dread from screwing up fills the atmosphere, leaving me at the edge of my seat, especially at the climax of the film.
Overall I feel this is one of the best movies of 2012, definitely worth a watch especially to experience the tension of its scenes.
