Review of Area 51 (2015) by Brian C — 11 Sep 2015
Area 51 is an enjoyable found footage style film about a group of teens trying to discover the secrets to the mysterious Area 51.
It is very intriguing, despite its very slow start. The planning that the group put in to evade the security of the base is very well thought out and feels very spy-ish.
However, once they get onto the base, the characters seem to leave any intelligent thought behind.
The security of the base is inconsistent as well. They have ammonia detectors, heat sensors, etc outside the base to prevent people from getting in undetected, but there was no security inside the base. No cameras, microphones etc. It felt disjointed.
The last half hour is very exciting and lots of fun, however, so some of the illogic can be forgiven.
