Review of Ararat (2002) by Geghani P — 28 Jun 2007
A breathtaking film. As in all Atom Egoyan's output, the film operates on multiple levels, with characters who are rich and multi-faceted. On the surface, it is a film about the Armenian genocide; beneath the surface run currents of the immigrant experience, the nature of Canadian society in the new millenium, racism and violence, love and passion across time and cultures, and much, much more.
The sense of time is disjointed and beautifully constructed. Please see this film - you will have a treat.
