Review of Arachnophobia (1990) by Bryan W — 03 Nov 2009
As anyone with a fear of spiders can attest, this is the ultimate in fun, creepy horror films that don't try to overextend their reach. The cast perfectly suits the script and manage to nail the balance between creepy horror, action, and comedy in the same way that a film like Tremors could.
A simple scene where Jeff Daniels has to take a step toward one of the arachnids is exposed and shot with the perfect requisite tension and John Goodman goes from simple comic relief to bad-ass with little transition.
Anyone who dislikes this movie has something to learn about having fun at the movies.
