Review of Aquaman (2018) by Pevalwen — 01 Jan 2019
Aquaman has pretty yellow eyes, but that's the film's strongest feature. There are what feels like 3 or 4 hours to endure of the protagonists going from one place to another, talking a bit and then having a fight. These scenes are separated by unnecessary dialogue too complex and tedious to pay attention to. This film could have been filled with wondrous nautical imagery, but the designs are the epitome of generic and uninspiring, over-saturated with CGI. It is also pointless to establish a villain at the beginning if that villain barely appears after their first scene.
I could have forgiven the film for being bland, but since it went on for so long, I ended up sat thinking how immoral it felt that so very much money went into this.
