Review of Aquaman (2018)

By Josh Terry (603) for Deseret News (Salt Lake City) (1) on 20 Dec 2018

Aquaman is weird and corny and fun, but it would have been more fun if the weirdness and corniness had been dialed up to 11…

Review of Aquaman (2018)

By Jo Berry (104) for Movies4Kids (46) on 20 Dec 2018

It's as splashy, action-packed and utterly bonkers as you'd expect a story about a fishy fella who can save the world would be…

Review of Aquaman (2018)

By Alan Zilberman (171) for Washington City Paper (500) on 20 Dec 2018

What ultimately holds it together is that this film is self-aware about its silliness, to the point that it is often sublime…

Review of Aquaman (2018)

By Richard Roeper (2,737) for Chicago Sun-Times (7,580) on 19 Dec 2018

I don’t see Aquaman ever reaching icon status, but I’ll say this: He’s a lot more fun on his own, when he’s not saddled with those…

Review of Aquaman (2018)

By John Semley (121) for The Globe and Mail (Toronto) (4,018) on 19 Dec 2018

Review of Aquaman (2018)

By Jim Slotek (879) for Original-Cin (1,156) on 19 Dec 2018

A big dumb acid-trip of a super-hero movie, Aquaman is relentless, noisy, entertaining nonsense – particularly in 3D IMAX - as overlong as…

Review of Aquaman (2018)

By Devon Maloney (1) for The Verge (432) on 19 Dec 2018

There’s a level of self-awareness in Aquaman’s more grandiose images and plot movements that’s certainly been missing from previous DC…

Review of Aquaman (2018)

By Wesley Morris (1,967) for The New York Times (9,847) on 19 Dec 2018

It’s just two and a half years of — sorry, two and a half hours — of oceanic screen savers and hair that won’t stop undulating so we…

Review of Aquaman (2018)

By Michael O'sullivan (1,712) for Washington Post (9,851) on 19 Dec 2018

On the plus side is the eye-popping production design, although that is also, like the plot, too, too much, dazzling the eye with more fantastical…

Review of Aquaman (2018)

By Soren Andersen (496) for The Seattle Times (964) on 19 Dec 2018

It seems director James Wan had one overarching goal in making “Aquaman.” His prime directive? Crush the audience into submission…

Review of Aquaman (2018)

By Peter Hartlaub (620) for San Francisco Chronicle (7,630) on 19 Dec 2018

Review of Aquaman (2018)

By Jeffrey Lyles (696) for Lyles' Movie Files (591) on 19 Dec 2018

Review of Aquaman (2018)

By Kiko Martinez (245) for San Antonio Current (241) on 19 Dec 2018

If Aquaman has anything going for it, it's the fact that it fully embraces just how ridiculous it is…

Review of Aquaman (2018)

By Simon Miraudo (882) for Student Edge (256) on 19 Dec 2018

You're just waiting for the wild final act, when Wan fully embraces the metal promises of this Aquaman concept, and we get to witness Arthur…

Review of Aquaman (2018)

By Victor Stiff (37) for That Shelf (6) on 19 Dec 2018

from beginning to end, Aquaman is big dumb fun. It doesn't dare take itself seriously, and it's a better movie for it…

Review of Aquaman (2018)

By Erin Free (200) for FILMINK (Australia) (1,405) on 19 Dec 2018

so utterly entertaining, wickedly inventive, and insanely paced that it comes spinning into cinemas like a breath of fresh ocean air…

Review of Aquaman (2018)

By Jeremy Jahns (155) for JeremyJahns.com (155) on 19 Dec 2018

This movie is really entertaining -- a lot of fun! But it's also a lot, period…

Review of Aquaman (2018)

By Kristen Lopez (178) for Culturess (85) on 19 Dec 2018

Playing like a modern-day parody of '80s fantasy films like Clash of the Titans, Aquaman embraces the camp, the zany, and the weird…

Review of Aquaman (2018)

By Laura Clifford (2,742) for Reeling Reviews (4,376) on 19 Dec 2018

While Momoa is just fine as the titular Aquaman, [the] screenplay features far too little humor and far too much origin story - by the time…

Review of Aquaman (2018)

By Zaki Hasan (247) for Zaki's Corner (159) on 19 Dec 2018

It's big and splashy, a visual feast with real stakes, but also with an earnestness it wears proudly on its sleeve…
