The tale of a boy who blackmails a former Nazi? Strange premise for a film, yet Bryan Singer makes it into a great piece of entertainment. His adaptation of Steven King's novella showcases a delightfully bitter Sir Ian MacKellan and David Shwimmer in a role where he is actually tolerable.
What happens to that pigeon is also wonderfully brutal. Bravo!
