Sequels always suck, right? Wrong.
Ex Machina is an upgrade to Appleseed; The animation is better, the action is top notch, and the sci-fi plot is just as preposterous (stealing only from the best films and cliches). This is the kind of blockbuster you want to see on the big screen, with the volume cranked up as far as it will go.
