Review of Appleseed: Ex Machina (2007) by Victor D — 16 Jul 2008
Fast, imaginative and reliable anime hits close to the mark with gloriously executed CG mecha animation and insightful and diverse characters. The cumbersome and confusing plot with everyone somehow turning into zombies (huh?) adds meaningless weight to the film but the climax thankfully whets our appetite after a few, well executed and beautifully rendered action scenes.
Recommended.
