This was a solid western in classic style. It feels so much like a classic western to a fault - sometimes with generalities and hokiness that feel the fault of Ed Harris' direction. But there are some great things about it too - specifically Viggo Mortenson, who can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned.
I just loved his performance. Zellweger annoyed me minimally. Harris and Jeremy Irons were good for what they needed to be. nothing amazing here, but a nice entry for fans of the genre.
