Viggo Mortensen's performance is fantastic. I thought Renee Zellweger was miscast, and Ed Harris seemed uneven, possibly due to the heavy workload as director, co-writer, and lead actor. I'm not the biggest Western aficionado, but I still favor Unforgiven and the remake of 3:10 to Yuma over this film.
