Review of Apollo 13 (1995) by David B — 05 Oct 2009
This gets 4 stars mainly due to the amazing true (and so nearly disastrous) story, and less due to the acutal film-making, although this may be the nerdherd Ron Howard's best film, with fine acting from all and especially gripping depictions of the pure genius innovative problem-solving down on Earth at mission control.
.. the main drawback is the awful cheesy melodramatic triumphant orchestral music during the second half that Hollywood has such a hard time avoiding.
