Review of Apollo 13 (1995) by Baurushan J — 31 Dec 2012
I'm pretty sure you all know the history of the Apollo missions so I'm not going to go too deep into it. The movie is definitely based on a true story as you can clearly see. The story is about three astronauts named Jim, Jack and Fred who take the 13th Apollo mission to the moon from NASA after only the 11th and 12th have succeeded.
So now that they're in space and they have landed on the moon, an onboard explosion causes the power systems to go downhill and the oxygen begins to dwindle. It's up to the workers at NASA back at Earth to send oxygen back up there and rescue the three astronauts in order to get them back to Earth safely before anything else goes wrong.
I'm one of those guys who find movies about astrology very interesting and this was no exception. If you watch the scenes in the film when they're in space, you can easily soak up the drama alone.
The performances from our lead actors are amazingly believable, The story is solidly written and directed and I think most of all, it is the drama that soaks up the whole movie itself making this visual media pretty epic.
This is a professional astrology movie where no cheesiness, goofiness, silliness nor stupidness is allowed. Apollo 13 just got a 10/10.
