Review of Apocalypto (2006) by Brody R — 16 Oct 2012
Apocalypto (2006): This film directed by Mel Gibson (Braveheart, The Man without a Face) takes place sometime in the 1400's in a Mayan village. It follows Jaguar Paw who is played by Rudy Youngblood.
Hands down, this film has the best chase scene on foot in film history as it takes place throughout the jungle for the better part of the second half of the film. The set decorations, make-up, wardrobe, and overall casting were spot on throughout the film.
On another note, kudos to Gibson for keeping the film in native Mayan tongue. R-Rating, 139 Minute Runtime, Mayan language with English Subtitles.
