Review of Apocalypto (2006) by Thomas A — 22 Dec 2011
One thing I love about movies directed by Mel Gibson is the fact that they are very original; as in the sense that he always requires the so-called "natives" in the movie to learn the local language of the story, just like he did with "Passion of the Christ". If only he directed "Memoir of a Geisha" too!
The movie has a good suspense. However, there is one disappointment: in the DVD case, the cast of the natives are not credited at all...is it because they are not White people? I do think more credit should be given to the excellent actors and actresses who have taken the pain to learn a language for a movie in which they are not credited.
